SERVICE TO CAMP'S COMMUNITY

We will be building bridges between Camp Gifford and the local community through service and Bible study. A youth night will be planned, programmed and implemented by the program participants. Youth Night will include: Games, Musical Instruction, Worship and Bible Study. As you learn new skills you will be able to pass them on directly to local children as you learn to lead by example.

SERVICE TO THE SPOKANE CORPS COMMUNITY

We will partner closely with the Spokane Corps in a variety of ways throughout the year. You will be assisting with Friday Night Youth Group and supporting the corps on Sundays. You will assist in special projects and will help with door to door evangelism and invitation. You will spend time in the downtown area getting to know the homeless population and ministering to them.

OUTREACH AT OTHER CORPS

During the year you will visit a Divisional corps for five to ten days as a Corps Assistant. You will be used in whatever capacity the corps most needs you. During this time you will give your testimony during a Sunday service and Preach a sermon at a Sunday Service. You will be asked to participate in outreach and evangelism opportunities as well.

YOUNG ADULT RETREAT / YOUTH COUNCILS

We will be participating in Young Adult Retreat and Youth Councils in ways yet to be determined by Divisional staff. During these events you will be asked to help recruit for the REV program as well as for Camp Gifford's summer staff.

SUMMER ASSIGNMENT

Each program participant will have a summer assignment (to be determined by the Director and DHQ) at a Salvation Army camp or inner-city program as a volunteer. You will be expected to fulfill the responsibilities of your position while maintaining your studies and journaling. You will also be asked to be active in the local Salvation Army corps as permitted throughout the summer; giving your testimony and, if possible, preaching at the local corps.

INNER CITY ASSISTANCE

With the assistance of DHQ we will look for ways you can assist in inner-city ministries for a period of time (possibly up to a month).  This will likely take place in the greater Seattle area.  Additionally, we will be working with homeless ministries in the Spokane area throughout the year to assist them in various ways.
