Overview Part One
Overview Part Two
HOW DO YOU APPLY?
Beginning the application process is as simple as filling out the
attached forms and sending them in to the address listed upon them. Once you
have been determined to be a potential participant you will be contacted for an
interview. Your pastor, parents and references will also be interviewed. After
we've received your completed application, references and forms you should know
within a couple weeks if you have been approved as a participant for the
upcoming year.
WHAT IS THE COST? The cost of the REV Program is about $5,000.00
per participant. Through the cooperation of DHQ, THQ and the Spokane
Corps the actual tuition will be $3,800.00 for the year
(call for details). Participants are encouraged to secure financial
support from their congregations. Support letters are available
for approved applicants.
WHAT DOES TUITION INCLUDE? The tuition includes room and board
for the length of the REV Program, all lesson materials and
miscellaneous materials, a laptop computer with Bible study software and
other necessary programs (you keep the laptop after successfully
graduating from the course), local travel costs (you will need to get
yourself to the camp initially - travel within the program including
recreational time as a group is included) and a weekly stipend of $15.00 (in
addition to a food stipend).
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW MUCH TIME OFF WILL WE GET? Although the REV Program is very
study intensive there will be time off. Initially you will be asked to
remain at camp unless the group travels together for structured break
time. As the year progresses there will be increased unstructured
leisure time. Our intent is not to control or micro manage you - our
intent is to help you break the habits you may have formed for
audio/visual stimulation (or overstimulation) and help you to form new
habits of reflection and study.
CAN I BRING MY VEHICLE? You may bring your vehicle with you.
Again, initially you will be asked to refrain from using it except at
specified times. There will, however, be times that you will be allowed
to do as you wish and go where you will.
CAN I HAVE VISITORS AT THE CAMP? There will be specified times
when visitors will be allowed to come to the camp. Exceptions may be
made to accommodate work schedule and etc. Visitors will be asked to not
interfere with class times and schedules and visits will be limited in
duration.
WHAT IF I HAVE A SPECIAL DIET? Special dietary needs will need to
be discussed with us prior to your acceptance to the REV Program. It
would be good to include this information in your initial application.
If your special dietary needs will reflect a significant food cost to
the REV Program you may be asked to pay additional tuition to cover this
cost. Additionally you may be asked, in some cases, to provide portions
of your own diet. This will be a case-by-case evaluation.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING? Upon your acceptance into the REV
Program this and many other specific questions will be answered for you.
Additionally, in the course of our discussion during the interview
process, we will be covering many of these types of questions.
