PROJECTS

Some of the projects for REV participants include: Planning, advertising, and implementing "Youth Night" at Camp Gifford. This will be an ongoing project throughout the year. Youth night will include: Games, crafts, music lessons, praise and worship and Bible Study. An adult Bible study will be planned as well. The adult Bible study will likely be the same night as youth night and the adults will share in praise and worship before separating for their own Bible study. Audio/Visual instruction and projects. You will be learning to run a soundboard, create PowerPoint presentation, run MediaShout, create music CD's and learn to edit video to create video CD's, DVD's. We will be creating Presentation CD's and DVD's for Camp Gifford and for the REV Program which we will use in advertising. Young Adult Retreat and Youth Councils. With the assistance of Divisional Headquarters you will have assignments for both of these events. You will be asked to advocate for the REV Program and to assist in talking to youth and young adults about attending the REV Program and/or working at Camp Gifford for the summer. Christmas Party and Camp Staff Retreats. Each year we have two staff/volunteer retreats and a Christmas Celebration for the community. You will assist in the planning and implementation of these events, including: facilitating games and initiatives, setting a menu, programming the weekend, leading Bible study and preaching sermons, leading worship, and etc. Assisting with Christmas Kettles at Camp Gifford and in Spokane. We will be helping with the kettle effort at Spokane and running our own (very small) kettle program at camp to raise money for projects. Leading worship at camp, at Spokane and in corps you visit. As you become proficient at your instrument you will be asked to lead, or assist in leading, worship. Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter special activities at Spokane Corps. We will be participating in special services and activities in Spokane during the holidays. This may include: putting on a children's Christmas or Easter play, helping with the Thanksgiving Turkey Distribution, helping with Clothe-A-Child, and etc. We will provide time for you to home for the holidays as well. Camp projects and assistance. To help with the funding of our program you will be asked to assist with our retreat groups from time to time. Some of the duties you'll be asked to perform include: facilitating the ropes course, running games and initiative for the groups, helping in the kitchen - either cooking, cleaning or washing dishes, doing various outdoor projects as needed. You will receive special training where necessary to perform these duties.
